Quincy Medical Group (QMG) has an exciting opportunity for a Refund Specialist to join our team.
QMG is a multi-specialty group practice with more than 155 physicians and providers in West Central Illinois, Southeast Iowa, and Northeast Missouri.
QMG has been a recognized leader in healthcare for more than 85 years and we continue to lead the way in transforming healthcare.
Responsibilities:
The Refund Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate research of credit balance accounts, including personal and insurance accounts.
This will involve refunding, initiating account adjustments, and contacting various insurance carriers to determine proper payment liability.
This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:
00 a.
m.
to 4:
30 p.
m.
Work location is in Quincy, IL.
This position is in office for 6-12 months, but can be work from home after the training period.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of all-payer payment policies, billing, and coding guidelines.
Able to maintain current knowledge of the billing system to assist with the accurate processing of assigned workload.
Display excellent written and verbal communication skills when interacting with internal staff members and outside organizations when necessary.
High school diploma or GED required.
Five years of related experience in a healthcare claims position or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
