Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff - Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and contracts - Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases - Maintain and organize legal files and documents - Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings - Answer phone calls and handle inquiries with professionalism and discretion - Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence - Assist with document management systems and electronic filing - Manage calendars and coordinate travel arrangements for attorneys
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a legal secretary or in a similar role preferred - Proficient in data entry and document management systems - Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures - Strong research skills using Westlaw or similar resources - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively - Knowledge of legal drafting and formatting documents - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment - Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) - Experience with litigating cases is a plus - Project management skills are a plus This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills to join our team as a Legal Secretary.
